About the Artist

In his energetic detailed works Viktor Safonkin is holding up a mirror to us. We see ourselves in the grotesque faces, which seem to originate from a dream (or to be more precise a nightmare) and which then haunt us in our subconscious. Nothing is more important to the artist than the constant fight against indifference. Therefore he does not allow anyone to walk past his dramatic paintings with this detestable indifference.
