Anna Bocek besteht darauf, dass sie „nicht versucht Realität zu rekonstruieren oder zu kommentieren“. Wir finden die Künstlerin selbst oft in ihren Werken, die an einen gefrorenen, stillstehenden Moment erinnern. Einfache, kontrastreiche Farbfelder dienen ihr als Hintergrund für lebendige Figuren, die sie durch ihre intensive Farbwahl heraushebt. Der Mensch steht im Vordergrund, weit von seiner gewohnten Umgebung entfernt. Sie zählt das Theater zu ihren größten Einflüssen und sie versucht eine ähnliche Beziehung wie zwischen Darstellern und Publikum zu aufzubauen.
